Maida Susana Pergeson
Maida (Maestas) Pergeson of Holbrook, AZ, passed away on July 20, 2020 to be with the Lord. Maida was born on the Maestas Family Ranch, near Concho, AZ, on December, 8, 1937, by her parents Nestor Maestas and Juanita Lucero Maestas. Maida was welcomed into Heaven by her husband Loyd Pergeson (passed away in 8/2003) and her beloved son Troy Pergeson (passed away in 9/2008), and seven siblings, Martha Perellta, Vidal Maestas, Louis Maestas, Ned Maestas, Frankie Maestas, Genevieve Grego, and Gloria Keeton.
Maida was a wonderful Mother, Grandmother, Sister and friend, who was full of energy and enjoyed so many adventures in her life. Maida lived in Holbrook, AZ where she and Loyd owned and operated many businesses (including the Exxon, Dairy Queen, and Petrified Wood Oasis just to name a few). Maida was always proud to call Holbrook home, and she had many friends and family throughout her life who loved her very much, and for that she was extremely blessed. Maida loved to travel and always had a bag packed and ready to go on a minute's notice. There was not a place she would go, and within five minutes she would have a conversation started, and a new acquaintance to add to her list. She was full of zest, always loved to learn new things, and loved a challenge. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and loved her.
Maida is survived by her daughters: Connie (her husband Rick, and their two sons Tyler and Marcus); Traci (her husband Lester, and their two children Madisen and Christian, and their two granddaughters Karterr and Sienna); Pennie (her husband Mark, and their two sons Braeden and Kyele); Maida's daughter-in-law Charletta, her son Marcio (and his wife Roxanne, his children Alycia and Marcio Jr.), her daughter Megan (her partner Ryan, and their daughter McKenna), and her daughter Milly Pergeson); and Maida's sister Fella Baldwin, and her brothers Leo, Earnest, Johnny, and Dr. Andrew Maestas.
A Novena for Maida will held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, in Holbrook AZ, starting on August 18th at 5:30pm, August 19th at 7:00pm, August 20th at 5:30pm, August 21st at 7:00pm, August 22nd at 5:30pm, August 23rd at 9:00am and August 25th at 5:30pm.
A funeral Mass for Maida will be held at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 10815 N. 84th Street, Scottsdale, AZ 85260 on Monday, October 12, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. Following Maida's Mass, an inurnment ceremony will be held for both Loyd and Maida Pergeson at Holy Redeemer Catholic Cemetery, 23015 Cave Creek Rd., Phoenix, AZ 85024. Maida and Loyd will be placed to rest and we want to thank all of those who loved our parents.
