Mary Ann Duerr
February 2, 1925 - July 29, 2020

Mary Ann Duerr (nee LeBlanc), age 95 of Wimberley, Texas, passed away on July 29, 2020, due to complications associated with a stroke. She was born February 2, 1925 in Port Arthur, Texas to Arthur James LeBlanc, Sr. and Georgeanna Bell LeBlanc. While she grew up in Texas, she lived most of her adult life in Long Beach, California, returning "home" in 2011.

Mary enjoyed sewing, crafts, volunteer work with her church, family, friends and getting people to laugh. She served in the US Marine Corps during World War II, where she met her husband, Edward James "Al" Duerr. Together, they raised seven children.

In recognition for 20 years of devoted volunteer work and over 4,000 hours of service at home and broad, Mary received an award from President George W. Bush in 2007. Always busy, Mary also served as office manager for Golden Age Tours, a company who organized trips and activities for Senior Citizens. All who came in contact with her loved her caring nature, jovial sense of humor, positive outlook on life and memories she freely shared.

She was predeceased by her parents and her husband, siblings Laura Wenzel and Arther J. LeBlanc, Jr., as well as grandson Paul A. Duerr. She is survived by her children Patricia Wilson, Irene Carey, Michael Duerr, James Duerr, Robert Duerr, Anita DeBarros and Timothy Duerr, along with 17 grand children and 17 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Robert Earl LeBlanc and many nieces and nephews.

Her sense of humor, caring nature and love of God is carried on and share with others through her children.
