Matthew Scott Clawges
April 9, 1986 - July 31, 2020

Matthew Scott Clawges, 34, of Westover passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 31, 2020 of natural causes.

Matt was born April 9, 1986 in Morgantown, WV the son of Jeffrey Dana and Kimberly (Johnson) Clawges of Westover.

In addition to his parents, Matt is survived by two sisters, Danielle Clawges and Stephanie McArdle and her husband Jared of Morgantown; his nieces and nephews Sydni, Sage and Spencer Clawges and Aaden and Graycen McArdle; his maternal aunts and uncles including Karen Fox, Kellie Neville, Kathy Boyle and her husband Ed, and additional uncles Mike Krishock and Jim Neville; his paternal uncle and aunts Johnnie Clawges, and Debbie, Connie and Becky; as well as several cousins.

Matt was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents John and Patty Clawges; paternal great-grandmother, Dorothy Cain; maternal grandparents, Verna Gaspar and Orris Johnson, and maternal great-grandmother, Mary Gaspar.

Matt was a graduate of University High School Class of 2004 where he lettered in Varsity Basketball and Football and was named All-State in football for his junior and senior years. He enjoyed bowling with his cousins Logan, Josh, Jace and Rob. He was a big WVU Mountaineer fan and avid Tampa Bay Buccaneer fan.

Matt dearly loved his family, especially his nieces and nephews. He had a big piece of his heart set aside for his nephew Sage Matthew whom he had a very special bond with. He had a heart of gold and his memory will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone who knew and loved him.

Following a private visitation for his immediate family, Matt will be cremated, and no other public services will be planned.

Matt's family requests that that you please make contributions in his memory to the Malibu Dude Ranch, 351 Foster Hill Rd., Milford, PA 18337.
