"Dear James, David and Charles: You have my sincere condolences with the loss of your Mother. She was a very special lady. I will always remember our visits to your house when I was much younger. That was our summer vacation and it was always fun.Bast Regards:Bob and Sally Buckley"
"My sympathy to the family. She was a very important part of my teenage years. I was a teenager in the 60s and spent a great deal of my lunch money at the Hi Fi Stereo shop. There was never a record I could ask about or an artist that she didnt know. In later years I would go to Fairmount and get music from her. I still have all the records and albums I bought from her. I always enjoyed just talking to her. She was always a very nice lady. She will be missed! Paula Oatess."

"Such a wonderful lady really enjoyed going to her store and talking with her. Will definitely miss her."
"This is a lovely eulogy for a lovely lady. Helen (and Leo) were very special people in my life many years ago when I was in college with Jim (I was fortunate to know Jim's brothers as well). Jim and I were very close friends and his parents always treated me like a daughter. I especially recall dinners at their home together, going to auctions with Leo, visiting Helen's record shop, and just hanging out. Perhaps the most special memory is a trip Jim and I took to New York City to visit our friend David who was interning their as a "big city" architect....Helen and Leo came to a trade show for her record shop while we were there and we got such special treatment! It was about the time Blondie (Debbie Harry) was first breaking out with Heart of Glass. I thought she was amazing; and we all thought we were on top of the world! Helen and Leo treated all of us to more than one meal, and one I remember especially well was in New York's China Town....a pretty big deal for girl from small-town southern Indiana!! And during the trip she gifted me with a beautiful tiny porcelain cup painted in a graceful green chinoiserie pattern that I treasure to this day. Helen Broyles was a beautiful, brave, and special lady--I will never forget her. I hope to follow her example as I make my own way through life.Over the years Jim has remained among my closest friends and confidants"
"What a wonderful lady! She was always a gracious and attentive shop keeper. From the time we were teens until even recently, it was always a pleasure to shop at her store. She was the gate keeper for all of our sound tracks all of our lives. Our community has indeed lost a truly precious citizen.May her family be comforted with the knowledge that her life inspired so many."
