"Arlen was known around Grant County as the guy that knew Grant County history when it came to high school sports. He didn't just support HIS team of Madison-Grant, but supported all teams within the county when they competed against others. Arlen always met up with me at different athletic events across the county and we would talk both Oak Hill athletics as well as MG and rest of the county. If there was ever a Friend that all of Grant County schools' athletic programs could call, it would be Arlen Hasty. I'll miss him greatly as will the rest of Grant County that knew him. Our prayers, thoughts, and condolences go out to the Madison-Grant community, and especially to his family."

"HEAVEN gained one of the most LOYAL ARGYLLS EVER!!! This man, known by many and probably known best to most people as Mr. Argyle or Mr. Madison-Grant, either way Arlen seldom missed ANY MG athletic event the girls or boys sports! He followed the teams from city to city and could tell you about each and every one of the players. He knew their academic records basically as well as their sports statics. He was a friend to many and the students appreciated his support from smiles, hand shakes of congratulations, or just a pat on the back saying "you'll get it next time". He encouraged ALL THE KIDS & they knew him & appreciated his support. He just was always there for those Madison-Grant kids...a fixture in the Madison Grant gym...you could always find him at home games sitting in the very middle of the front row on the west wall of the Madison-Grant High School gym cheering on his favorite high school team!!!I believe the reason they couldn't save Arlen''s life is because he bled "black and gold"... and they just don't stock those RARE blood types in our blood banks! He will be missed by many and Madison-Grant truly lost a great supporter, fan, and friend! Rest in peace Arlen. We know you are still supporting & cheering on our beloved ARGYLLS just from the best view ever!Condolences to your entire family.(I know this tractor should be red but this was the onlycolor you could choose) Annette (Retherford) Norris"
