James Jim Arthur Miller, II, 75, passed away on Wednesday, December 20, 2017, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on August 05, 1942, to the late James Arthur Miller, I and the late Eva Mae (Wilkins) Miller. He graduated from Jefferson Township in 1960. He then attended Ball State, Taylor University and Earlham College School of Ministry. He was a jack of all trades since 1967. He worked as an Excavating Contractor, and he was the Pastor at Walnut Corner Friends Church, for one year in 1973, Maple Run Friends Church, for six years, 1974-1980, and Open Door Fellowship Church, for 36 years, 1981-2017. He was an evangelist, a man of true faith and commitment to the Community, and was loved by all. He gave his heart to the Lord with his wife Phyllis at the Methodist Church in Upland, Indiana at the same altar July 28, 1968. They have been faithful followers of God since that day. He loved his machines. He loved overhauling them and using and selling them for a 2nd income. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, playing golf, and he loved to travel; he had visited all of the states in America as well as Australia, England, and Wales.
We are very thankful for all that we have and all that God has shared with us in our lives. We will continue to serve Him faithfully in the way that Jim would want us to do. He taught us well and he will always be in our hearts. He was an awesome wonderful, handsome, caring, kind and compassionate man and will never be forgotten by his loving family and community. We will miss him always.
Jim is survived by his wife, Phyllis A. (Marshall) Miller, Converse; daughter, Lori (Jim) Goff, Converse; son, Jeff (Linsey) Miller, Greentown; daughter, Debbi (Eric) Anderson, Denver, CO; daughter, Shari (Jason) Smith, Somerset; twelve grandchildren, James Goff, Becca Goff-Pritchett, Maggie Goff-Johnson, Kailyn Miller-White, Clayton Kelley, Kynlee Miller, Meredith Anderson, Paige Anderson, Joshua Smith, Jared Smith, and Sarah Smith; and three great-grandchildren, Isaiah Goff, Olivia Pritchett and Lakely White.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Eva Mae Miller, brother, Tom Miller and grandson, Seth Goff.
