Joanie (Burgener) Moody wrote on Sep 5, 2018:
"I'm sorry, I hadn't learned of June's passing until today. What a sweet lady, and dear friend of my mother, Eula Bell (Marshall) Burgener, for 75 years. I took them, along with their other dear friend, Cholis Sue Michael, to their nursing class reunions in Indianapolis, each year. And it was wonderful to see how they maintained their friendships over the decades, even as the reunions grew smaller as the years passed. In earlier days, their husbands joined them in getting together, and the men became great friends too. I can imagine that my mother was one of those waiting at heaven's gate to welcome your mom home to be with her Savior. At each reunion, the ladies would sing "Prayer Perfect" which they used to sing in all their chapel services, and which many said they would like to have sung at their funerals. So I leave you with these words from "Prayer Perfect" by James Whitcomb Riley. "Dear Lord! Kind Lord! Gracious Lord! I pray Thou wilt look on all I love, tenderly today! Weed their hearts of weariness, scatter every care, down a wake of angel wings, winnowing the air. Bring unto the sorrowing all release from pain; let the lips of laughter overflow again. And with all the needy, O divide, I pray, this vast treasure of content that is mine today!""

"My mother was a gracious and loving person who stood up for her children and tried to help us and others make the world a little bit better place. She was smart, brave, and strong -- assuredly a role model for many younger ladies to emulate. We were very close, and I loved her dearly.~Nile"

"My thoughts and prayers are with June's family, she was a very special and caring lady. Family friends for three generations, it was always a pleasure to interact with her and Art both. Our community is better for having had them here, and is diminished with their passing."

"June touched our hearts as she welcomed our family as part of her own, taught our children in Sunday school, and loved on them as their fill-in grandma. We cherish the example of lovingkindness she was to us as a young family when we lived in Marion many years ago. Thank you for sharing us with her. She will be dearly missed. Praying for you all."
