Janet L. Hanlon, 63 died on Wednesday, May 6, 2015, at her Somerset, Indiana residence

Born Tuesday, May 9, 1951 in Hartford City, Indiana she was the daughter of the late Francis Hiatt and Aralee (Carey) Hiatt. Janet was a 1969 graduate of Fairmount High School and attended Ball State University. Janet and Douglas L. Hanlon were married on August 15, 1970 at Grant United Methodist Church Fairmount, Indiana. Janet worked at MSD Wabash County where she was a secretary at Whites Junior Senior High School for over 20 years. Prior to working for MSD of Wabash County she worked for Madison-Grant School Corporation as a secretary at Park Elementary. Janet was a member of Grant United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. She loved music and sang with the Special Ks, an alumni choir from Fairmount High School. Janet was an avid reader, enjoyed going to Colts games with her husband Doug and enjoyed spending time with her sons and grandchildren, attending their different events and activities.

6 grandchildren: Austin, Josh, Adelyn, Lydia, Mabry, and Briley

Arrangements are entrusted to the Fairmount Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 415 S. Main Street, Fairmount, Indiana., where the family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Sunday, May 10, 2015,

Funeral Services are Monday, May 11, 2015 at the Fairmount Chapel at 10:00 AM with Rev. David Smitley officiating. Burial will be immediately following with a graveside service at Park Cemetery, Fairmount, Indiana.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Susan G. Kohman Foundation or the Wabash-Miami County Hospice in care of the funeral home.
