"I am saddened to hear of Cathie's passing. Although I have not had direct contact with Cathie recently, she will always have a place in my heart. I will cherish the moments of memory when I worked with Cathie at the Times, she was my assistant and a darn good one at that. Cathie will be greatly missed.

"Norma and family: hello, norma, it's Marthena . Barb Laughlin and I were so dismayed not to have made contact with you this visit home. I called my eldest, Micki June, and she said to share with you that she, your Cathie, and Lisa Daubenspeck always put their birthday money in together at Presbyterian Sunday School, as they all had same "birthday week". "To Norma Jean, Donny, Bruce and all of Cathy's family, Cathy was a schoolmate and family friend. While I have not stayed in contact she is one of the few classmates I did think about and how I cherished those youthful years at Mississinewa. I will always remember her smile and her moment of excitement several reunions ago when we crossed paths and got caught up on each others lives.
My heartfelt prayers go to each of you at this time of loss, but also the joy of our memories and the ever-present knowledge that she has gone before us and will be there to greet us all when our time draws to a close.
Love to you all"
