Larry L. Wood, 75, of Jonesboro, Indiana died on Thursday, July 24, 2014, at his Jonesboro residence.
Born onAugust 24, 1938 in Marion, Indiana, he was the son of the late Ernest Wood and the late Pauline H. (King) Wood.He graduated from Fairmount High School in 1956 where he played football and basketball.Larry was proud of being on the 1955 basketball team that beat the Marion Giants in the sectional.He attended Purdue University where he playedthe trumpet in theMarchingBand. Larry married Nancy Comer on September 22, 1957 at the Fairmount Friends Church.Larry was a lifetime farmer, served 12 years on the Madison-Grant School Board and 8 years on the Federal Land Bank Board.He was a member of the Back Creek Friends Church and a former member of the Green Township Lions Club. He enjoyed watching sports especially Madison-Grant and Purdue and following his grandson Ryan's athletic career.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kimberly Ann Wood and two brothers,Ronald and Richard Wood.
A Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at Fairmount Chapel Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services located at 415 S. Main St. Fairmount, Indiana 46928 with the Linda Cabe officiating. Interment will be in Park Cemetery, Fairmount, IN.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, July 28, 2014, at Fairmount Chapel Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 415 S. Main St., Fairmount, Indiana.
Memorial contributions are to Back Creek Friends Church in care of the funeral home.
