"To the Turner Family;
My memory of Chris goes back to when my grandmother lived with Chet Mann's mother in the small house across the yard from their house on Rush St. As a pre-school aged child, I met Chris and played with her there in the neighborhood. Later in church and school, she played a prominent role in music, the choir, the Youth Group. I remember the "snow-out" days when she would invite all of us to her house and make a party out of it. I am glad she was grounded in Bible teaching and church. She will be greatly missed."

John and I were so sad to hear of Chris' passing. We just found out on Sunday and were immediately flooded with so many wonderful memories of our times together. Chris was a wonderful, talented soul and her life on earth was way too short. Our sincere love and prayers go out to you. We hope you find comfort in knowing that Chris touched so many lives in such a positive way. May your faith and the love of Christ bring you the comfort and peace which surpasses all understanding."

"Chris will always be the best boss I've ever had. She opened up her store to me, and also the opportunity for me to make friends and family when I had neither close by.
She would glow when she saw my children. I loved showing them off to her.
She would order Cowboy Burgers even though she knew better. Chris knew when a rule should be bent and when it should be broken.
She would listen, guide, and help. I'm a better person for having worked so closely with her. I try to bring a little bit of Chris to the job every day.

"To my cousins and family, we offer our deepest sympathy. Chris was such a character, even tho we didn't get to see much of each other, we remember the visits. My brother still remembers all the naked Barbie dolls in Aunt Mary's pool! And who could forget the "speech" Chris made at my Dad's funeral!(Dolphins vs. Colts!) I wish I could be there, I wish I had been there more, but do know you all are in my heart.

"To the family of Chris Turner:
My deepest heartfelt sympathy for the loss of Chris. I have soooo many great memories of her and her family.
Swimming at "poopie George's" pool with her will forever be in my memories. This is truly a great loss. Chris was a wonderful, caring and beautiful lady. She always could put a smile on your face or let you have it, whichever you needed at the time. That is what truly made her special.
I'm so very sorry for your loss.
Sincerely,
Kris (Shane) Tedder"

Michael Crisman wrote on Nov 5, 2013:
"I worked with Chris at Half Price Books from April of 2000 until the day she retired. Over the years she helped me with so many things, including being the one person I could go to when a very close friend was diagnosed with cancer who knew exactly what he was going through. As a fellow animal lover, I always enjoyed hearing stories of her cats' antics (especially Simon). As a manager, she wasn't afraid to back up her employees 100% when the occasional problems arose. And while her no-nonsense attitude could be a little off-putting at first, you always knew where you stood with her. No beating around the bush for Chris--she was the very definition of the phrase "telling it like it is."
While I knew this day was coming, you still can't prepare for the news. I'm glad to have known her, proud to call her my boss, and prouder still that she called me a friend. My life is better for having known her, and the world is emptier for her loss. All my sympathies to her family, friends and loved ones."
