Upland: Jeanette Grace Roberds, 81, passed away Saturday at Greenbrier Nursing Home, Eaton, OH. She was born in Upland where she spent her formative years. She was a graduate of Jefferson Township High School. She attended Indiana University and graduated with bachelors, masters, and doctorate degrees from Ball State University. Jeanette (Hatfield) and John Roberds I were married in Muncie on July 18, 1952. He preceded her in death April 19, 2007. She was a teacher in Fairmount and Muncie and was a school psychologist in Marion, IN. At Miami University of Ohio, she worked in the field of teacher education and educational psychology. She had an impact on many students as a teacher, spanning first grade to post-graduate work. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church in Richmond, IN. She and her late husband spent many years traveling the U.S. after their retirement from teaching in 1989. Several times they traveled to Shiprock, NM for mission work. Survivors include children: Carolyn Hunt, Marion, IN, Connie Parrott, Warrior, AL, Cindy (Leslie) Harrell, St. George, UT, Cathy (Alan) Clift, Eaton, OH, John (Lisa) Roberds II, New Whiteland, IN; grandchildren: Joel (Lori) Hunt, Chris (Lisa) Hunt, Tracy (Chuck) Ernst, Ben Clift, Brandon Roberds, Stephanie Roberds, Sarah Roberds, Claire Roberds; and eight great grandchildren. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her mother Leota Hatfield, brothers, Steve and Dave Hatfield, and granddaughter, Emily Harrell.
