Esther J. Richman
August 1, 1935 - September 17, 2011


Devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother. Esther Jane Richman, 76, passed from this earth into the arms of the Lord, Saturday afternoon, September 17, 2011, at her residence.
Esther, was born in Duggar, Indiana on August 1, 1935, to Earl and Elizabeth (Swan) Wheeler. She attended high school in Daleville, Indiana where she met the love of her life, Robert C. Richman ,whom she married Oct 1, 1951, he preceded her in death, May 22, 2006. Early in their life together, Esther joined Bob in California where he served his country in the Navy. She loved to tell stories of the hard times they endured but all the joy in making it through those hard times. She was always very active in her daughters and grandchildrens lives and activities. Throughout her life she was a wonderful cook, she enjoyed many activities including sewing, crochet, play cards, and enjoyed her lake cottage and activities of fishing and swimming, boating and skiing. She was a avid bargain hunter and loved to go to rummage sales and auctions, and casinos. She was a dedicated and hard worker, as she and her husband built and renovated properties over the years.
Esther is survived by her daughters, Marion Kay Joiner, and companion, David Kanda Moy, Las Vegas and Debra (Gordon) Smith, of rural Fairmount, two grandchildren, Holly Marie Smith, Hollys fianc, Darren Wagner, Jasper, Ryan (Justina) Smith, Bloomington. Esther is also survived by her sisters Mary Williams, Fairmount, Susan Stewart, Gatlinburg, TN, and brother Tony Bob(Gaye) Swan, Anderson, sisters-in-law, Betty (Don) Austin, Anderson, Dotty Wheeler, Merced, CA, and by an aunt, Vera Mase, Oregon. She is also survived by and will be missed by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Esther was preceded in death by a brother Earl Wheeler Jr.

A memorial service celebrating her life will be at 12Noon Thursday at Armes-Hunt Funeral Home, Fairmount, Indiana, with Pastor Rob Clark, officiating. Visitation will be from 10AM to Noon Thursday, prior to the service. Burial will be at Park Cemetery, Fairmount.
Memorial contributions may be made in care of the funeral home, for Riley Childrens Hospital for Children, Indianapolis, as it was dear to Esther for the care given to her granddaughter at birth.
