Upland: Judy A. Shady, 65, passed away Sunday morning, July 31, 2011, in her home. She was born in Marion, the daughter of the late Everett and Esther (Sliger) Ross. She graduated from Jefferson Township High School in 1964 and attended Beauty College in Marion. She married Don Shady on October 14, 1967 at Upland United Methodist Church, Upland. He survives. Mrs. Shady had been an Upland resident all her life. She was a babysitter for over 30 years, a hairdresser, and homemaker. She enjoyed spending time with grandchildren and family, working in her flower garden, and people - she never met a stranger. In addition to her husband, survivors include, two sons, Roger (Karin) Shady, Carmel, and Jay (Nicole) Shady, Marion; a daughter, Julie (Timothy) Thompson, Poneto; six grandchildren, Megan, PFC Zachary, Tyler, Emily, Kayetlin, and Maggie; six sisters-in-law, Ann Ross, Patricia Shady, Doris Glancy, Charlene Jennart, Sandy Feltt, and Linda Ealy; two brothers-in-law, Jerry Shady and Gene Shady; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Tom Ross. Memorials may be made to Cancer Services of Grant County, 305 S. Norton Ave., Marion, Indiana, 46952. Funeral Service: 10:30 am, Wednesday, August 3, 2011, Jones-Smith Funeral Home, 259 N. Main St., Upland, Indiana. Visitation: 2-4, 6-8 pm, Tuesday, August 2, 2011, Jones-Smith Funeral Home, 259 N. Main St., Upland, Indiana. Officiating: Pastor Jay Shady Interment: Jefferson Cemetery, Upland, Indiana.
