John C. Webster, age 77, of Fowlerton, IN, passed away in his sleep during the early morning hours of Sunday, March 6, 2011,
He was the son of the late Joseph Webster and the late Sarah (Forrest) Webster. He was born on July 25, 1933. In 1951 he graduated from Fairmount High School. He served in the Air Force as a Radar Technician from 1953-1957 and was a member of the American Legion.. He married Doris Carpenter in Anderson, IN on October 11, 1958.
John was dedicated to hard work. He was employed by the Grant County Highway Dept. for 24 years, 17 of those, he served as Superintendent. After his retirement in 2004 the Highway Dept, honored John by dedicating the Highway Building in his name. He was appointed as interim commissioner of Grant County in 2010. He stayed active working for Dobson's Paving and actively serving on the Grant County Drainage Board. He was the Republican Precinct committeeman for Fairmount 3 in Fowlerton.
John loved his family dearly and is survived by his wife, Doris, of 52 years.

He was preceded in death by a sister Betty Nottingham and brother Robert Webster.
Arrangements are being handled by Armes-Hunt Funeral Home, 415 S. Main St., Fairmount, IN where the family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Thursday, March 10, 2011. Funeral service will be at Armes-Hunt Funeral Home at 10:00 AM, Friday, March 11, 2011, Pastors Brian Wise and Ella Nichols officiating. Interment will be at Vinson Cemetery,
Summitville, IN
Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or Fowlerton United Methodist Church in care of the funeral home.
