Upland: Deloris L. Stratton, 80, passed away at 4:30 pm Saturday afternoon, February 26, 2011. She was born in Marion, the daughter of Joshua and Blanche (Bowman) Ancil. She graduated from Marion High School and attended Purdue University. She also attended State Beauty College in 1961. Deloris had lived in Upland since 1957 and was a board member for the American Cancer Society, and was a member of the National Cosmetology Association. She enjoyed volunteering for Gilead Ministries and Kids Hope USA. She was a member of Grace Community Church. Survivors include two daughters, Pamela (Kerry) Nelson, Springfield, OH, and Janet Jones, Upland; a brother, Larry (Susan) Ancil, Upland; a step-daughter, Cynthia Stratton, Florida; a sister Priscilla Romine, Gas City; six grandchildren, Kerry Joe (Mella) Nelson, Springfield, OH, April (Ryan) Schipper, Cedarville, OH, Teri Timmons, Upland, Darren (Brittany) Timmons, Converse, Shannon Armes, Pennsylvania, Holly Hiatt (fianc: Beau Woodruff); 18 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney, two sons, Larry Joe Stratton and Dane Stratton, and a daughter, Rhonda Stratton-Hiatt, a brother, Jay Ancil, a sister, Arlene Berry, a grandson, Christopher Armes II, and a great grandson, Ethan Sidney Nelson. Memorials may be made to Gilead Ministries, P.O Box 134, Jonesboro, Indiana, 46938. Funeral Service: 10:30 am Wednesday, March 2, 2011, Grace Community Church, 1810 E. Bradford St., Marion, Indiana Visitation: 2-6 pm Tuesday, March 1, 2011, Jones-Smith Funeral Home, 259 N. Main St., Upland, Indiana, and an hour before the service at the church Officiating: Rev.
