"I fondly remember Dr. Krueger. He was the only person to thank me the summer the Chemistry Lab was first painted. I was up the ladder working away when he came out to go home and paused long enough to say thank you. I never missed a class but one day I came to class after having four wisdom teeth pulled. He called on me and as I tried to answer my mouth still totally numb, my tongue fell out of my mouth and would not cooperate. I had a sign the next time he called on me. He smiled and told the class my situation and said he would try not to call on me the rest of the class. He allowed some interesting experiments and graded them to the letter. All I know of Chemistry is to his credit. David Walker"

"My 22 years on the Taylor University faculty mostly concided with the service of the Kruegers with Gordon as a faculty member and Ruth as a community leader and teacher. I remember both as wonderful, caring people whose competence and commitment helped to convince me that Taylor is a truly Christian community."

"There's another paradox that offers some comfort. The secular unbelieving world calls the lifeless ashes and dust and formaldehyde and make-up the "remains." Doing so, they admit that something that matters has departed, gone somewhere else, leaving the remains behind. What made your dad your dad is on to the next stage. How precious is that? And the unbelieving secularists affirm it all the time. You two spring from good stock. And you both embody the best of what your parents were. Some of the proof is in the pudding, the grandchildren. And from what I saw, they loved their grandparents. Warm condolences, Wes and JoAnn Your parents gave their old stereo to our son James. He has a huge collection of 33 1/3s and he plays them on that stereo all the time. He enjoyed your parents as much as we did."

"Dear Juanita and Gordon, From here looking back it seems we were your parents' neighbors for only a short time. We enjoyed them very much with picnics on the patio and cinnamon rolls from her oven. She liked to supply the meat for grilling. They were so close to my parents it was a joy to sit in their living room and reminisce. Your mom had ideas and didn't hesitate to share them and your dad's "Now Ruth" still makes us smile. Then when she moved to Warren we enjoyed helping your dad with computer problems and some cooking. He was fun and he overflowed with appreciation. Conversations with him may have started with the water softener or microwave but would end up discussing scripture he had read or some other eternal topic. I think he knew he was teaching me about getting older. He was a very warm and caring man. But when he moved to Warren, we saw each other very little, maybe only twice. I regret that. Scripture tells us a paradox - the four of them are finally all together again, or they're sleeping waiting for the last trumpet. Either way, they are safely in God's plan. It will be a while before we get to re-enter the unfinished conversations that keep popping up, and that makes us sad. But it's a good sad and a happy ending is coming. We miss our parents."

"Professor Gordon Krueger changed my life. As an older student enrolled in Taylor University, I chose to take a beginning course in chemistry to fulfill a liberal arts requirement. I didn't know the difference between an atom, a molecule and an electron. However, I fell in love with science under Professor Krueger's enthusiastic teaching. I became a chemistry major! Later, Gordon helped recruit me to become a fellow teacher at Taylor. There I came to know, respect and love him as a Christian brother and role model. My love and compassion to Juanita and Gordon Earl (my former student) and all the grandchildren. There is a drum roll in heaven as Gordon and Ruth join hands once again! Bob Wolfe"
