Darla J. Kendall Wilson Mc Bride, 51, of Marion, died Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at Millers Merry Manor
Darla was born on December 22, 1958 in Marion, Indiana to the late Ermal Slim G. Wilson and Patricia Darlene (Little) Saylor
She was raised in Fairmount where she graduated in 1977 from Madison Grant High School. During her school years she worked as a cook and waitress at King's Lunch in Summitville and the Country Kitchen in Fairmount and as a secretary at Carbon Dioxide Sales in Marion.
She hired in at Fisher Body, Marion in March 1977. During her employment there she worked many different job classifications. She had to retire in 1991 due to failing health. She was a member of the UAW Local 977 and UAW Local 977 Retired Workers. She had been an elected union official serving on the Executive Board and also as a Retired Workers Coordinator and UAW-GM Pre-Retirement Coordinator. She truely enjoyed representing Senior Citizens. She was an Honorary Member of the Indiana State Council of Senior Citizens and the National Council of Senior Citizens. She served on the Grant County United Way Board in 1987 and was a former member of the Country Crafters Craft Club.
Darla was a forster parent for some time providing guidance and shelter to several children in need.
She loved cooking and spending time with her family, hosting nearly every holiday.
In 1999 she moved to South Carolina and was co-owner of the Fish House Campground and Mobile Home Park in Elloree. She enjoyed hanging out and lending a had at Stumphole Landing. After being diagnosed with cancer She returned to Marion to be near family and friends.

Arrangements are being handled by Armes-Hunt Funeral Home, 415 S. Main Street, Fairmount, Indiana. Funeral Service is at 1PM on Saturday at the funeral home with Joe Shaver officiating. Burial will be a Forrestville Cemetery. Friends may call the funeral home on Friday from 4-8 PM.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Summitville Fire Department in care of the funeral home.
