Upland: Hazel M. (Bolner) Pernell, 83, passed away at 1:38a.m. Sunday at Ball Memorial Hospital. She was born in Upland the daughter of the late Oakley and Mabel (Brooks) Bolner. She was a 1944 graduate of Upland High School. She married Cecil Pernell on August 5, 1953 in Quantico, VA. He survives. Mrs. Pernell retired from Owens-Illinois in 1982 after 29 years. She enjoyed attending church at the Van Buren Church of The Nazarene, where she was a member and served on the board. She also enjoyed attending Wednesday morning Breakfast Club, cooking, sewing and crafts. Her life focus was on her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Cecil; children, Rick (Barb) Pernell, California, Susie (Robert) Coppock, Florida; grandchildren, Kahla (Joe) Hewitt, Marion, Jeff Coppock, Upland, Staff Sergeant David (Missy) Pernell, Virginia, Raphael Delgado, California, Janet (Brian) Watson, Gas City; great grandchildren, Cortney Barton, Jeffery, Jason Coppock, Brandon Hewitt, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by, son, David; sister, Jeanette; brothers, Bob, John, Rusty, Dee; sister-in-law, Mickey, granddaughter, Jody.
