Elisabeth Holsinger
July 7, 1926 - September 2, 2010

Upland: Elisabeth "Betty" Holsinger, 84, went home to be her Lord and Savior at 1:11 p.m. Thursday with loving family by her side. She was born in Chicago the daughter of the late Howard and Lillian (Christiansen) Hermensen. She married Charles Holsinger in Chicago on August 4, 1949. He survives. Mrs. Holsinger was a 1949 graduate of Wheaton College where she earned her B.S. degree in Physical Education. Along with her husband, Chuck, she served in the Philippines with O.C. International as missionaries for 6 years. She also served 17 years in Taiwan teaching physical education at a school for U.S. Military and missionary dependants. She visited 57 countries and traveled over a million miles ministering to missionaries in the field. She started Young Life Groups and ministered to missionary women. In 2001 she and Chuck moved to Upland from San Jose, CA. She was an active member of the Upland Community Church. She also attended the "Morning Glories" women's Bible Study. Survivors include her husband of 61 years, "Chuck"; two sons, "Ace" David (Gwen) Holsinger, Rockford, IL, Daniel (Marilyn) Holsinger, Stillman Valley, IL; two daughters, Janet (Gary) Friesen, Upland, Robyn (Steven) Ekstrand, Batavia, OH; two sisters, Carol Erickson, Chicago, IL, Alberta (Rev. Don) Andrews, West Allis, IL; 12 grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Holsinger-Schultz Memorial Endowed Scholarship, Taylor University, 236 W. Reade Ave., Upland, IN 46989. Memorial Service at a later date. Final Disposition: Cremation
