Elizabeth J. Castner, age 87, of Fairmount, IN, died Saturday, January 30, 2010, at St. Vincent Heart Center of Indiana in Indianapolis, IN. Mrs.Castner was a homemaker, also had worked as a nurse before becoming a homemaker. She attended St. Paul's Catholic Church, Marion, IN.
She had many talents and sang for the Dorsey Brothers during the depression years. She enjoyed sewing, painting, acting and directing and was active in theater.
She was born in New York, N.Y. February 20, 1922 and was tthe daughter of the late Henry Zorb and the late Ella Geekie
She survived by four Daughters:

Betty Mathews, Fairmount, IN
Janice (T.C.) Beardslee, Punta Gorda, FL
Pam Putnam, Schaumburg, IL
2 Son:
Gregory Castner, Marion, IN
Daniel (Kathy) Castner, Fairmount, IN
10 Grandchildren, 10 Great Granchildren, and 1 Great-Great Grandchild.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Diane Dejong and a son, Guy Jediny.
Arrangements are being handled by Armes-Hunt Funeral Home, 415 S. Main St., Fairmount, IN where the family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Tuesday, February 2, 2010. Funeral service will be at Armes-Hunt Funeral Home at 7:00 PM, Tuesday, February 2, 2010, Father Richard Wisenberger officiating.

"i am lizs granddaughter i am her son guy jedinys daughter i only got to speak to my grandma 2x's in my life i made contact with her for the first time when i was 19. i no we didnt no each other very well but she was my grandmother all the same. i regreat not ever getting to no the real her. we spoke on the phone sent letters and shared pics she wanted so bad to meet my daughter alicea which never happened she passed not even noing about my son nicholas. i am so sorry grandma liz that we never had the chance to bond as grandmother/granddaughter should. i hope you are resting in peace in gods sweet embrace."
