Myron Reese Peacock Jr
June 26, 1923 - January 1, 2010

Myron Reese Peacock Jr, age 86, of Fairmount, IN, died Friday, January 1, 2010, at Colonial Oaks Healthcare Center in Marion, IN. He was born June 26, 1923 to the late Myron Reese Peacock Sr. and the late Effie Lucille (Kimes) Peacock in their home in Fairmount Township, Fairmount.

He farmed his entire life and growing up on the farm, he developed a strong work ethic. He graduated from Fairmount High School in 1941. He played basketball, baseball and ran track.

He was a member of Fairmount Friends Church, where he served on many committees and sang in the choir. He served on the Madison-Grant School Board from 1966-1974 and was President of the board during the consolidation of Fairmount and Summitville. He like snow skiing, piloting his Cessna airplane and going to the Daytona 500. He enjoyed going to sports of all kinds. His greatest passion was farming.

He married his wife 63 years, Barbara Joan Winslow, March 3, 1946 at the Fairmount Friends Church, Fairmount, she survives

6 Great Grandchildren: Caleb, Colin, Owen, Meyer Middlesworth, and Claire and Audrey Waits.

Preceded in death by his brother John Charles Peacock.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Monday January 4, 2010 at Armes-Hunt Funeral Home, 415 S. Main St., Fairmount, IN with Pastor Jackie Michaelson officiating. Interment will be at Park Cemetery, Fairmount, IN Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday January 3, 2010 from 2-8 PM.

Memorials are to the K. C. Runyon Scholarship Fund the Community Foundation % of the funeral home.
