Thora L. Ferguson
May 6, 1918 - November 30, 2009

Upland: Thora L (Hiatt) Ferguson, 91, passed away Monday afternoon in Greenfield. She was born in Monroe Township, Grant County the daughter of the late Leslie E. and Ethel (Howard) Hiatt. She graduated from Jefferson Township High School in 1936. She enjoyed being a homemaker. On June 29, 1946 she married Cleo Ferguson in Upland. She had been employed with Taylor Dining Commons and Eastbrook High School for several years prior to her retirement. She had lived in Paw Paw Michigan for several years prior to moving to Greenfield. Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Cleo; daughter, Tamar (John) Martin, Greenfield; a brother, Rex (Val) Hiatt, Upland; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A daughter, June and two sisters, Rhoena Johnson Worrick, and Bernice Phillips preceded her in death. Service: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December. 3, 2009, Jones-Smith Funeral Home, Upland Indiana. Tamar was born when I was in fourth grade and June Lee and I were best friends through our elementary years. Thora and Cleo my parents friends.
