Carlos "Uvon" Ferguson
December 21, 1927 - May 2, 2009

Upland: Carlos "Uvon" Ferguson, 81, went home to be with the Lord surrounded by family at 9 pm Saturday at Ball Memorial Hospital. He was born in Monroe Township the son of the late Noah and Iva (Moon) Ferguson. He was a 1946 graduate of Jefferson High School and also attended Valparaiso University. He married Alberta (Land) on September 8, 1950 in Hartford City. They had been grade school sweethearts since 3rd grade. Mr. Ferguson served in Japan with the Army from 1946 - 1949. He was employed with 3M Company, Hartford City as a Laboratory Technician, retiring in 1986 after 36 years. He was a member of the Upland Friends Church. He enjoyed fishing, loved his grandchildren, gardening and was a devout Chicago Cubs fan. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Alberta; two sons, Stuart (Louanne), Floyds Knobs, Stan (Lorna), Zeeland, Mich., a daughter, Carla (Doug) Stevens, Upland; a brother, Cleo (Thora) Ferguson, Greenfield; and five grandchildren, Scott (Emily), Kelly, Nathan, Neil, Noah (Ashley). He was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Peters and a brother, Robert Ferguson. Memorials may be made to the Upland Friends Church, 1111 S.
