Richard "Dick" L. Myer passed away Saturday morning at his residence following a lengthy illness. He was born in Hartford City the son of the late Delbert "B.D" and Mary (Trout) Myer. During his high school years the family relocated back to Indiana after living in West Virginia. He was a 1946 graduate of Jefferson High School. After high school graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and was discharged in 1949. He earned a B.S. degree from Taylor University and a B.A. from Ball State. He began his teaching career in Spartensburg and continued teaching for 35 years. He taught at Park Elementary, Fairmount and Allen in Marion. He married Phyllis (Camblin) Myer in Farrville on June 30, 1956. She survives. Also surviving are two sons, Christopher L. Myer, Indianapolis, Keith A. Myer, Lapel; a sister, Susan (Ron) Wright, Dunnellon, Fl. Memorials may be made to the Grant County Rescue Mission, 423 S. Gallatin St., Marion, IN 46953.
