"William Charles Kiernan, Jr. ... "Uncle Charlie," as his family always called him, was my mother, Pauline's, baby brother. My Mom became second-mother to her (2) much younger siblings by the time they started St. Michael's (and she was at Hope High), when my Saint-of-a-grandmother took a factory job near their Washington Park project in South Providence. Meanwhile, Grampa Kiernan drove the city streetcars and later the busses throughout Rhode Island.Uncle Charlie was always quick with a joke and he loved big family gatherings, every holiday, no matter the weather, our family clan was all together ... especially in the summertime in Middlebridge, RI at the family beachhouse ... Sadly, it's now gone, but for 60+ years, that humble place by the river stood and provided us with what we'd come to realize were our fondest memories ...Our Irish, Lithuanian family taught us what really matters in life ... Unconditional Love, Values, Ethics, Integrity, Forgiveness.Uncle Charlie will Always be in our Hearts and we will Cherish the HAPPY Memories we had ... Always "
