Mr. Normand P. Hotte, of Taunton, died Tuesday, March 1 in Morton Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Lillian Marie Elizabeth Memere (Briere) Beaulieu Hotte. He was born 95 years ago in New Bedford, the son of the late Arthur R. and Aleda (Gaudette) Hotte. He was educated in New Bedford and had been a Taunton resident since 1945. Prior to his retirement, he had been employed as a salesman for Taunton Venetian Blind for over 50 years, and was affectionally known as The Blind Man. Mr. Hotte was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and was a Purple Heart recipient for wounds received in action during the D-Day campaign at Normandy. He also saw action in the Rhineland and Ardennes Campaigns. He was a Life Member of the David F. Adams Post #611 Veterans of Foreign Wars, where he served as Treasurer, the Disabled American Veterans, and the Taunton Eagles. He was a communicant of the former St. Jacques Church in Taunton. He leaves: 2 sons: Arthur Normand Hotte of Lakeville, and Paul Randall Hotte and his wife, Pam, of Charleston, S.C.; 1 daughter: Therese L. Corliss and her husband, George of Taunton; 1 sister: Yvonne Fontaine of New Bedford; 5 grandchildren: Bobby Hotte, Jeannine Terra, Jessica Cahill, Deborah MacNeill and Amy Rogers; 8 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Cora Marcoux, Alice Fulhan, Lucien Hotte and Wilfred Hotte. Funeral services will be held from The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, on Saturday, March 5, at 9:00 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in St. Jude the Apostle Church at 10:00 A.M. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours will be held on Friday, from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M.
