Mr. Joseph Renaud, of Taunton, died Wednesday, February 23 in Morton Hospital following a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Geraldine (Gately) Renaud. He was born 94 years ago in Blackstone, Ma., the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Emile Renaud. He was educated in Taunton and had been a city resident for most of his life. Prior to his retirement, he had been employed as a polisher for Reed and Barton Silversmiths for 43 years. Mr. Renaud was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served in the European-Middle Eastern-African Theatre. He was a member of the Reed and Barton Quarter Century Club, the David F. Adams Post #611 Veterans of Foreign Wars and the North Taunton Senior Citizens Club. He enjoyed fishing. He was a communicant of St. Jude the Apostle Church in Taunton. He leaves: 1 son: Joseph F. Renaud and his wife, Elaine, of Taunton; 2 granddaughters: Cynthia Beauchesne and her husband, Dana of New Hampshire, and Tricia Magri and her husband, John of Maine; 5 great grandchildren: Zoie, Jet and Colt Magri, and Sophie and Olivia Beauchesne, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held from The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, on Saturday, February 26 at 9:00 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in St. Jude the Apostle Church at 10:00 A.M. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours will be held on Friday, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M.
