Mrs. Ida M. (Willette) Furtado, of East Taunton, died Monday, February 1 in Morton Hospital following a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late John Furtado, Sr. She was born 87 years ago in Taunton, the daughter of the late Maxime and Delia (Morin) Willette. She was educated in Taunton, having graduated from the former St. Marys High School, and had been a lifelong city resident. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed as a clerk for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Division of Unemployment in Taunton for 18 years. Mrs. Furtado had previously been employed by the Ad-A-Day Company in Taunton for 5 years. She was a member of the Holy Family Church Womens Guild and had also volunteered as a voting marshall during elections. She enjoyed quilting, baking cakes, making candy, visiting Cape Cod and spending time with her family. She was a communicant of Holy Family Church in East Taunton. She leaves: 2 sons: John Furtado Jr. of East Taunton James Furtado of East Taunton 2 brothers: Albert Willette of Florida Alfred Willette of Plymouth, Maine 1 sister: Helen Machado of East Taunton 6 grandchildren 3 great grandchildren several nieces and nephews Funeral services will be held from The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, on Friday, February 5 at 9:30 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in Holy Family Church, East Taunton, at 10:30 A.M. Interment will be in the V.A. National Cemetery, Bourne. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours will be held on Thursday, from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M.
