Mr. Normand J. Emond, of Taunton died Friday, April 3 in Morton Hospital follow- ing a lengthy illness. He was the husband of Dorothy M. (Faria) Emond. He was born 76 years ago in Taunton, the son of the late Oscar and Mildred I. (Olson) Emond. He was educated in Taunton and had been a lifelong city resident. Prior to his retirement, he had been employed as an expeditor for Texas Instruments, Attleboro, for 30 years. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Emond was a member of the Polish-American Citizens Club. He was an avid sports fan, particularly of the Boston Red Sox and the New York Giants, and especially enjoyed spending time with his grand- children. He was a communicant of St. Jude the Apostle Church. In addition to his wife, he leaves: 3 sons: Normand M. Emond and his wife, Paula of Taunton Jeffrey D. Emond of Bridgewater Bruce A. Emond and his wife Jannette of Taunton 2 daughters: Elizabeth A. McGuire and her husband, Dennis of Bridgewater Patricia M. Phillippino of Taunton 4 brothers: Kenneth Emond of Taunton Dennis Emond of Taunton David Emond of Assonet Harold Emond of Swansea 3 sisters: Rita Arieta of Taunton Claire Goldrick of Taunton Vivian McCreadie of Taunton 11 grandchildren: Danielle Emond, Michael Emond, Marc McGuire, Jennifer McGuire, Nicole Phillippino, Jillian Phillippino, Christine Phillippino, Darren Emond, Matthew Emond, Cassandra Emond and Meghan Emond several nieces and nephews Mr. Emond was also the father of the late James Emond and brother of the late D. Richard Emond and Lawrence Emond. Funeral services will be held from The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street on Wednesday, April 8 at 9:00 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in St. Jude the Apostle Church at 10:00 A.M. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours will be held on Tuesday, from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M.
