Barbara J. Decker

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the Kossuth County Cancer Foundation in Barb's Name.

A private family memorial service will be held on Friday, July 31, 2020 at Oakcrest Funeral Services, Algona. Visitation will be held from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM on Friday, July 31, 2020 at Oakcrest Funeral Services, Algona. Social distancing practices will be followed, and the family encourages people to wear masks.

Barbara Jean (Bruhns) Decker was born February 1, 1964 in Iowa City, daughter of Ben and Dorothy (Christensen) Bruhns. Barb grew up in West Bend graduating from West Bend High School in 1982.
On May 21, 1982, she was united in marriage to Robbie Decker in West Bend. They were blessed with three children.

Barb worked at the Chrome Country Inn for 20+ years. She also worked at Kmart and Pioneer. She enjoyed vacationing in Mexico, reading, and taking her dogs for a walk. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Barb was an active member of the United Methodist Church.

Barb died Saturday, July 25, 2020 at her home in Algona, surrounded by her family. She was 56.

She is survived by her husband, Robbie of Algona; children, Jamie (Chad) Stoulil of Bellevue, NE, Jesse (Sarah) Decker of Algona, Justin Decker of Waterloo; grandchildren, Samuel, Evan and Kami Stoulil, and Weston and Maxwell Decker. She is also survived by her mother-in-law, Judy Decker of Algona.

Preceding her in death are her parents; infant grandson, Lucas Stoulil; and father-in-law, Dwight Decker.
