PLEASE NOTE THE LOCATION CHANGED TO THE WINONA VFW.
Rosey Jonsgaard, 62, of Minnesota City, died Wednesday, July 22, 2020 surrounded by her family at home. Rose Mary Haack was born on June 10, 1958 to Emil and Loretta (Adler) Haack in Wabasha, Minnesota. She attended Immanuel Lutheran School through eighth grade and graduated from Plainview High School. She went on to Cosmetology School in Winona but found it necessary to take a better paying job after some time. She began working at the Holiday Inn of Winona as the Head Housekeeper. She later took a job as a custodian at St. Mary's University and continued working there for 30 years until her illness forced her to retire. On April 30, 1999 she married the love of her life, Robert "Bob" Allen Jonsgaard. Hard work, love, and faith in Christ was written into her DNA. Rosey enjoyed spending time with family, especially her son Christopher from her first marriage. Rosey had a green thumb and could seem to revive any struggling plant she picked up on a sale. Just as she nurtured plants, she nurtured people. She enjoyed being with family, gardening, window shopping, her dogs and volunteering at The Edge Church, where she was a member. Rosey often hosted sister trips at her home in Winona which were always a highlight. Her sisters loved being together creating new memories as well as reminiscing the old. They enjoyed shopping, especially garage sales, and just being with each other. Rosey never enjoyed traveling too far from home but her sisters were one of the few people who could get her away from Winona. Rosey always thought the best of people and you never heard her complain or talk poorly of others. She was a true christian and lived to serve her Savior every day in deed and in thought. She was a loving mom, stepmom, grandma, and great grandmother. Her loving, warm, generous spirit will be missed along with her beautiful smile.
Rosey is survived by her husband Bob; children, Chris Dubois, Laurie Carney, Bobby Jonsgaard, Tonia (Rueben) Rayfield, Nikki (Randy) Downing, Jenny (Andrew) Serio; her loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews; siblings, Bonnie (Duane) Bakken, Betty Zieman, Kathy Adord, Verdetta (Dave) Tusa, Orland Haack, Carol (Dan) Carolan, Randolph Haack. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Basil, William, and Robert.
An Open House Celebration of Life will be held at THE WINONA VFW POST 1287 from 1-4 p.m., Sunday, August 30, 2020.
Hoff Celebration of Life Center, Goodview is assisting the family.

"I never knew her name, but she came to the Kwik Trip I work at every weekend with her son, Chris. He always told me his name and called me by mine! He would \"fill up the tank\" putting a few dollars worth in- because he had to do it for his mom. They would come inside and he always got a donut, usually gone before they made it to the register! He always made sure to carry her bags and milk for her. She was so kind, patient, and soft spoken. And they were both always smiling. I will miss seeing her and joking with Chris about who is going to pay for the gas! Rest peacefully, Rosie. "

"Rosey we knew each other in Plainview at Immanuel Lutheran School and Church. I can see you there right now climbing those stairs, a grade year ahead of me. I often thought of you, and just recently as well. Like most, never knew where you went after high school. I see God\'s blessings adorned you, stayed with you, and provided you with many wonderful family and friends. Go in peace, to your heavenly place, my friend ... "

"Rosey I am so thankful God gave you to me, he knew I needed a mother and I couldn\'t have asked for a more perfect loving mother than you. I love you so so very much and I know you wouldn\'t want me hurting but I also think you knew it would be the hardest on me because of the rejection and everything I went through with my birth mother. You always understood me, loved me and accepted me just the way I was. You told me all the good qualities I had and tried leading me in the right direction. You shared your love for Jesus with me and everyone you met and they could see him in you, in your smile, in your eyes, in heart and in the way you treated others. Heaven has got to be the most beautiful place now that you are there "
