" I was raised in Mocksville. Back in the 1960's I have lots of memories of "Ike" (as he was known to us).He & my Papaw worked together at the mill. Some of the family may remember my grandparents, Roger & Lois McClamrock, of the Oak Grove community.Ike always helped Papaw with farming chores. He was like a part of the family. Always was a kind man. Loved his smile. And a hard-working man!I have a memory that will forever be stuck in my mind. We were at Nanny & Papaw's house as usual in the afternoon. I remember a young boy was with Ike (One of the sons, I suppose). Anyway, that little fellow got choked on a Tootsie-Roll Pop! I remember watching Papaw pick him up, hold him upside down, and "whack" him on his back to dislodge the hard piece of candy! To this day, I cannot bear to see little children with those Tootsie-Roll Pops in their mouths unless they are sitting down and not running!I remember Ms. Rebecca too...a very sweet lady.I know Ike was special to many....So glad that I knew him too.May your many memories give you comfort.May God give you His Peace. You have all been in my prayers and will continue to be.Sincerely, Pam H. Mr. Issac was another strong role model of church leaders long ago. Please know that I will keep you all in my prayers as you face this journey. Brenda Morrison Chunn "

Rev. W. Lowery wrote on Jul 3, 2012:

" Mr. Green will always have a special place in my heart for the many words of wisdom he often shared with me. During my years as his pastor he was a man and an elder who performed his Godly duties and responsibilities with excellence. He lived a life of honesty, integrity, and industry. He encouraged me to be a pastor that God would be proud of calling me to do His work. Every spring and summer he shared with my family the harvest of his garden. He shared generously his vegetables and fruit. Not only did he share the harvest of his garden; Mr. Green also gave of his time, talent, resources of unmeasurable wisdom about life. Mrs. Rebecca, you are a woman that is every bit the kind of soul mate that complimented his life. I know you and the family will sorely miss him but you can be assured; Mr. Green is resting in the arms of Jesus where he will forever be. May God continue to richly bless you and the children until you meet Mr. Green again. I am proud to say that I am a better pastor by learning a lot about generosity and love from a man like Mr. Green Issac. With Love and Blessings, Rev. Ivan W. Lowery, Former Pastor of Second Presbyterian Church Mocksville "
