"This definitely caught me by surprise cuz. There were so many memories we were suppose to make!! I had this vision of our (a week apart) babies FaceTiming and being super close whenever we come visit. I loved that when you became grown, you made it a point to reach out to everyone and stay in contact. You were definitely all about family. & you have to believe that tho life can get the best of everyone at times, we (family) was all about you too. You know how much everyone admired your pops. U were a piece of him for me. You were his junior, an image of him. I love seeing u do great things and i use to always be thinking I bet unc proud. Im just in ohhh that you arent here. Just know no matter what happens with your service, you have a family spreaded wide that loves you very much & were missing you. Huge & kisses!"

"Marcus was one of my favorite players I had on the Freshman basketball team at BHS. He worked so hard and improved so much, but above that he could make me smile at the drop of a hat. I am so sad he is gone so young. I know I will see Marcus again and this time instead of coaching him I will play on his team. Until then Marcus I will miss you. Coach William B. Stewart"
