Johnny "Chip" Woline
September 1, 1957 - April 11, 2018

Johnny A. Chip Woline, 60, of Coralville, IA, formerly of Mt. Pleasant, IA, passed away, Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at his residence after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Private family services will be held. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery. Olson~Powell Memorial Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements. A memorial has been established for IMPACT, a University of Iowa sponsored mental health care outreach program. Born September 1, 1957, in Mt. Pleasant, IA, Johnny Albert Chip was the son of John Marion and Dorothy Frances (Ensminger) Woline. He received his education through the Mt. Pleasant Community School District.

Known for his pleasant personality, Chip worked at Sirloin Stockade, The Iris Restaurants, and detailed cars at McWhirters Automotive. While in high school, he was active in band, baseball, and wrestling. Chip was an avid swimmer and participated in diving competitions. He enjoyed riding dirt bikes.

Chip is survived by his mother, Dorothy Woline of Mt. Pleasant, IA; three sisters, Lynda (Craig) Woline Long of Papillion, NE, Julie Woline of Granger, IA, and Joyce (Patrick) Wathen of Mt. Pleasant, IA; two nieces, Tara Long Martin and Katie Wathen Azar; and two nephews, Trevor Long and Daniel Wathen.

Those preceding Chip in death were his father and grandparents.

"Chip was my best friend in our teen years. He was into everything swimming, diving, wrestling, martial arts, fishing, motorcycles, the arts, horses & he liked to cruise. He was polite and unselfish and enjoyed laughing. He wil be missed. Rest in peace Chip."

"Chip and I played baseball together way back in the late 1960's. He was second base and I played various infield positions and pitched. His sister Joyce has been married to my brother Pat since Chip and i were still classmates at MPHS. Such a friendly person. Scrappy little ball player too. Great guy to have on your team!!
