She graduated from high school in New Zealand. Dot met her future husband, Maurice "Lee" LeMaster, when she was 15 and he was 17 serving in the Navy. She enjoyed needlework, crafts of all kinds, and painted with oils. She was a crossword puzzle enthusiast. Dot was an avid reader and read several books each week, but no matter how involved in a good book she was she always had time to put friends and family first.Survivors include a son, Gary LeMaster, of Iowa City, IA; a daughter-in-law, Genevieve LeMaster of Iowa City, IA; a sister, Jean (Graham) Lush of Auckland, New Zealand; five grandchildren, Derek (Pam) Parrott, Erin (Justin) Rogers, Collin (Jil) LeMaster, McKenzie (Kellen) Huseman, Ian LeMaster and his girlfriend, Brittany; and three great-grandchildren, Aurora, Enzo and Ethan. "I used to manage McDonalds, Lee and Dot would frequent there in the mornings. I always enjoyed there company. I moved to Iowa City and was at Village Inn and ran into Dot and she told me she was living here now and we sat for hours and caught up. Dot was smart as a whip and had so much knowledge to share. Just the other day I was driving on Scotts Blvd. and started thinking of her and wondering how she's doing. I searched Google to see if the white pages maybe have a phone # for her and I came across this. My heart broke. RIP Dot. She was one of the nicest people I know and I feel privileged to have known her."
