Mabel Kincaid, 94 of Mt. Pleasant, IA, died Monday, September 17, 2007, at the Henry County Health Center. Visitation will begin after 12:00 p.m. on Friday, September 21, 2007, at the Olson - Powell Memorial Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday evening. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 22, 2007, at 10:30 a.m. at the Olson - Powell Memorial Chapel with Pastor Jeff Crawford officiating. Burial will be in the Forest Home Cemetery. Memorials have been established to the Calvary Baptist Church in her memory. Born November 5, 1912 in Louisa County, IA, Mabel Irene was the daughter of James Alfred and Nannie Francis Martin McTee. Mabel spent her formative years in Crawfordsville, and later moved to Morning Sun. She graduated from Olds High School in 1930. She then enrolled in business college in Chillicothe, MO. Following her graduation, she worked for Woods and Sons in Chillicothe. On May 27, 1934, Mabel married Levi Wesely Kincaid in Bucklin, MO. The couple moved to Mt. Pleasant, IA in 1937, where they made their permanent home. Mabel was the bookkeeper for the family's well drilling business and Kincaid Trailer Courts. Mr. Kincaid passed away on February 11, 1973. Mabel attended the Calvary Baptist Church in Mt. Pleasant, and was active in the women's bible study at the church. She loved to cook and sew and spend time with her family. Survivors include, one daughter, Jean Ann Hamman of Mt. Pleasant, IA; one grandson, Bruce (Nancy) Pratt of Fremont, NE; and one brother, Robert McTee and his wife Virginia of Fairfield, IA. Also surviving are five great-grandchildren, Michael Pratt, Lisa Pratt, Wesely Pratt, James Pratt and Naomi Pratt. Mrs. Kincaid was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Levi; and by three brothers, William McTee, Charles McTee and James McTee.
