In loving memory of

Norma Margaret Rex Jebb
April 23, 1939 - July 4, 2020

Norma Margaret "Lee" Rex Jebb, age 81, Ocala, FL, July 4, 2020
Born April 23,1939 in Plainfield, NJ to Frances Mary Magdalen Schak Rex and Dewey Harland Rex. Sister of Dewey T. Rex and Sister in-law Alice, the late Buddy Rex, and Jayne Gavaletz and husband Andrew.
Lee graduated from North Plainfield High School in 1957. She moved down to WPB with her dear friend Vicki Naylor and met her late husband, Richard Travor Jebb. They married on June 30, 1967 in Lake Park, FL. Lee was a devoted mother who loved spending time with her family and treasured watching her children grow.
Lee enjoyed her career as a property manager starting her own business with friend Louise Schaedler via JEM Management. Before retiring, Lee worked as the property manager at Juno Ocean Club, in Juno Beach, Fl. Here she enjoyed working with the residents, many of whom she befriended. In 2017, Lee relocated to Ocala, FL.to be closer to family. Here she was active at the gym, sewing, decorating her new home and spending quality time with her four grandchildren.
Lee managed to write part of her own obituary where she celebrated her milestones and the family she loved so dearly. Lee was a strong woman in life even though she struggled with her health for the last few years. She proved time and again that she could overcome any challenge that she faced, and it pains me that this time she was unable to do so.
"My mother has always been there for me and strongly encouraged me to follow my heart and I'm forever grateful to her for that. We used to joke about how bad of a cook she was. One of my fondest memories was when I complained of the food at college and told Mom how much I missed her cooking. It always made her laugh". (Carter Jebb) Love you and miss you mom.
"I remember mom always being there for us kids and attending all of our activities. Dancing with the Gardens Dance program in Palm Beach Gardens, Fl. was my big focus as a young girl. Mom was very active in helping out with the recital each year. She became lovingly known as the 'bouncer' at the front door, making sure everyone who came in had a ticket. Mom, I love and miss you so much." (Jenni Jebb)
Mom often told a favorite story of hers about one of my boyhood hamsters that got loose in our house on Anchorage Dr and found its way to the kitchen. It had escaped its cage, made its way to the kitchen, and crawled up into the cabinet framework that had tunnels in the corners where a hamster would love to hide. After several days of no hamster and a desperate little boy, one night while she was watching TV in the family room, it came out looking for food no doubt. Mom saw it hiding under the kitchen table, she jumped up and pounced on it, catching it if memory serves in her hands. Oh, what a happy son she had the next day. You will forever be missed on this side of eternity and there's a hole in my heart that only my mom can fill. As I said to you on that last evening together on that third of July. "So, I'm not gonna say goodbye, cause I'll see you in a little while................" (Your little Matthew)
See You in a Little While
Steven Curtis Chapman
"I hold your hand and watch as the sun slowly fades
Far in the distance the Father is calling your name
And it's time for you to go home
And everything in me wants to hold on
But I'm letting you go with this goodbye kiss and this promise
I'll see you in a little while
I'll see you in a little while
It won't be too long now
We'll see it on the other side
The wait was only the blink of an eye
So I'm not gonna say goodbye
'Cause I'll see you in a little while
And just one more thing before I let you go
Please tell my 'dear mother' that I love her
Though I'm sure she already knows
And ask the Father to please tell the Son
That we're ready and waiting for Him to come
I'll see you in a little while
I'll see you in a little while
It won't be too long now
We'll see it on the other side
The wait was only the blink of an eye
So I'm not gonna say goodbye
'Cause I'll see you in a little while
Maybe you'll teach me all the songs they sing in heaven
Maybe you'll show me how you can fly
And I'll hear you laugh again
And we won't remember when
We were not together and this time it's forever
I'll see you in a little while
I'll see you in a little while
It won't be too long now
We'll see it on the other side
The wait was only the blink of an eye
So I'm not gonna say goodbye
'Cause I'll see you in a little while
I'm gonna see you in a little while"

Lee is survived by her children Matthew Christopher Jebb, Sr. (Lisa), Jennifer Emily Jebb Sutton (Scott), and Andrew Carter Jebb (Fatima), and Grandchildren Ashley, Matthew, and Noah Jebb, and Ava Sutton.
Due to the coronavirus situation, a memorial service is postponed until the spring. We will continue to post updates on the future date for this celebration of Lee's life.

In honor of Lee's memory, we ask that everyone take good care of themselves and their loved ones. Life is short, and time with our family is precious.

Grammy's favorite Psalm: Psalm 23
The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
