Middletown, RI - Agnes R. Brady Clarke, 75, of 253 Meadow Lane, Middletown, RI, died Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at Grand Islander Health Care Center, Middletown, RI. She was the wife of William Coggeshall Clarke. Born in Newport, RI on October 10, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Thomas F. and Agnes Donahue Brady.Rita was a physical therapist for the James L. Maher Center for ten years, retiring in 2002. She was a graduate of Boston University class of 1954. She was an avid gardener and swimmer. Rita was a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and the Museum of Newport Irish History, where she was also a board member. She was a communicant of St. Lucys Church. Besides her husband of 53 years, she is survived by her children William Paul Clarke of Bayview, ID, Thomas Matthew Clarke of Stockton, NJ, Kathleen Agnes Santos of Riverside, RI, and Rita Elizabeth Stinson of Middletown, RI, her siblings Thomas Brady of Newport, RI and Sheila Kiley of Ponte Vedra, FL, eleven grandchildren and two great grandchild. She was the mother of the late John Thomas Clarke.A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2008, at 9:00am, in St. Lucys Church, 909 West Main Road, Middletown. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery in Middletown. Donations in Agness name may be made to the James L. Maher Center, PO Box 4390, Middletown, RI 02842.
