Patricia Ann McCracken Kinsley, aged 68, of Morgantown, found peace Friday evening, June 24, 2016 when the Lord called her home. Born January 18, 1948 in Philadelphia, PA to the late William James and Veronica (Long) McCracken, she is survived by her children, Marie (Brian) Mayfield of Fairmont, Colleen (Shawn) Tuttle of Morgantown, Kay (Keith) Mullennex of Montgomeryville PA, and BJ (Becky) Kinsley of Morgantown and CJ White of Apolla Drive, who she loved as one of her own; grandchildren Haley, Jacob, Morgan, Kylie, Tanner, Paige, Alli, and Piper; brothers Bill (Janice) McCracken of Sarasota , FL, and Tom (Theresa) McCracken of Philadelphia, PA; nieces Traci McDonnell, Taylor McCracken, Megan McCracken, and nephew Tim (Jessica) McCracken. She is also also survived by her former husband Bill Kinsley of Fairview, WV; and many treasured friends and family, and her beloved Apolla Drive crew. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by many beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins, as well as nephews Tommy McCracken and Kieran McDonnell. An army veteran, Pat spent almost 7300 days serving her country both on active duty and in the Army Reserve, retiring in 1993 as a Sergeant 1st Class. She had a fondness for all things Mountaineer, being a passionate fan of both the basketball and football programs for at least 12000 days. Above all, though, her family was her soul. Pat spent over 15000 days as a mother and almost 6000 days as a Nonna, having been given the perfect number of grandbabies. And she spent every breath she had making sure that her family knew the love she felt for them, even when she could no longer express it in words. Friends may join the family in honoring Patricia's life and legacy at Smith Funeral & Cremation Care, 108 Holland Ave., Morgantown on Monday, June 27th from 6-8 PM and again on Tuesday, June 28th from 4-8 PM. A Scriptural Wake Service will be held in the funeral home Tuesday at 7:30 PM to conclude the evening visitation. On Wednesday, June 29th, Pat will be moved to St. John University Parish, University Ave., Morgantown, where she will lay in repose from 10 AM until the celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM with Father Isaac Haywiser, OSB, officiating. Interment will follow in the West Virginia National Cemetery, Pruntytown, where full military honors will be accorded.Pat suffered with Alzheimer's for almost 3000 days. So while it shouldn't define her life (as she was always much more than her diagnosis), her family does ask that, if desired, contributions in Pat's name may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 1299 Pineview Dr., Suite 3, Morgantown, WV 26505. Her family wishes to thank the staff at the Henry Clay Villa, and Sundale Nursing Home for the care she received and the support they provided to the family. To send personal condolences and other symbolic gestures, or to order flowers, please visit www.smithfuneralandcremationcare.com

"Momma, it feels weird to say I'm glad you weren't here for this year because I can't imagine ever wanting that. But God knows what he's doing, even if we don't understand. I just ask that you look after your grandkids (we were good and gave you all eight, just like we were told) and your kids. Life is tough down here. Life would have been unimaginable not seeing you all the time so we can rejoice in that. Give my love to pop and Alex. Love you more."

"Pat's Family, I knew Pat well back in the 1970s. We were mutual friends with Betty Rodriguez (then Baker), who now lives in upstate NY.(Back then my name was Pamea Ball Redmond.) When my life changed it's path, I lost frequent contact with Pat - but, I never forgot her. For years I would see Pat at a store or other public place. I would always ask about her lovely family. When I think of Pat, that was how I thought of her: as a wonderful mom to her children. She was so loving and caring with her children. She adored her children ---and they adored her. That is a wonderful legacy to have when we leave this world. May all Pat's children, grandchildren, family and friends find peace in their hearts. And may they remember all the good and fun times with their mom. Pamela Ball Morgantown, WV"
