Mary Ann Dzwonkowski Dee Ramsey of Morgantown, previously of North Hollywood, California, passed away on Friday, October 27, 2017 in her home.
Mary Ann was born August 20, 1933 in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, a daughter of the late Frank and Agnes Bruski Dzwonkowski.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by her first husband Danny Dee at a young age, and then her loving husband of many years, William Ramsey, Jr. in 2003. She was the youngest of five children and was pre-deceased by her sister, Lucille Dee Lazzell, and three brothers, August Dzwonkowski, Francis Dzwonkowski, and Lawrence Dzwonkowski.
Mary Ann was an Executive Secretary for Universal Studios in North Hollywood, CA for many years until she retired. This was the highlight of her life, as she thoroughly enjoyed her job and the many unique encounters and travels she was fortunate to experience with numerous movie stars, their families, and other professionals she met and worked with at Universal Studios. She shared numerous stories of these years with her family, entertaining all on a regular basis. Mary Ann and Bill loved their families and utilized their travels to visit with them. Everyone greatly looked forward to these visits and the enjoyment shared by all!
Following the death of her husband Bill, her great-niece, Amanda Miller, moved in with Mary Ann in North Hollywood, CA, to provide assisted care. In 2010, Mary Ann required full-time care and relocated to the home of her niece, Wenona, and husband Donnie Miller, in Morgantown, WV. Here she lived surrounded with love and support from Wenona, Amanda, great-niece, Vanessa Moyers, great-great-niece Arielle Rose, and additional extended family members. Hospice services were recently added for Mary Anns comfort, and she enjoyed the affection and attention she lovingly received.
Family members feel blessed to have had Mary Ann in their lives, and will miss her terribly. She brought sunshine, laughter, and love to all who surrounded her, while providing memories and stories of her beloved family and delightful life. Mary Ann is survived by numerous nieces and nephews living all over the United States to include WV, FL, CA, CO, NY, AZ, NM and GA.
A memorial service to celebrate Mary Ann Dzwonkowski Dee Ramseys life and legacy will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at Smith Funeral and Cremation Care, 108 Holland Ave., Morgantown, WV 26505. Father Walter Jagela, Pastor of St. John University Parish in Morgantown, will officiate. Immediately following the service, inurnment will take place at East Oak Grove Cemetery where Mary Ann will be laid to rest with her sister, Lucille Lazzell. Mary Anns wishes for a Catholic Prayer Service, cremation and inurnment have been honored by her family. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until the start of the memorial service at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, November 8, 2017.
The extended family of Mary Ann Ramsey would like to thank the members of Hospice who provided loving care and support to Mary Ann during the final weeks of her life. They not only provided gentle and loving care for Mary Ann, but brought treasured comfort to all in her home.
