Linda Kay Moore Smith, age 72, of Morgantown, passed away Monday afternoon, October 24, 2016 at Sundale Nursing Home.She was born February 5, 1944 in Morgantown, a daughter of the late Clarence Miller and Rebecca (Catlett) Moore.Survivors include a brother, Larry Moore and his wife Naomi of Williamston, SC; and many nieces, nephews and very good friends.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Verl Junior "Smitty" Smith on November 23, 2012 and her son, Michael Verl Smith on January 28, 2015.Linda retired from West Virginia University as a Mail Service Manager. She enjoyed working with crafts and ceramics and traveling with her husband and son. She was a great conversationalist and you always knew exactly where you stood with her. Per Linda's request, there will be no visitation, and her wishes for cremation will be honored.A committal service will be held 11:00 am on Friday, October 28, 2016 in the Chapel of Tranquility Mausoleum at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens with Pastor Dan Meadows officiating. There, she will be laid to rest with her husband and son.In lieu of flowers, contributions in Linda's memory may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, 900 Lee St. East, Suite 1010, Charleston, WV 25301.Professional services are under the direction of Smith Funeral & Cremation Care, 108 Holland Ave., Morgantown.
