Shannon Christopher "Chris" Powell, age 37, of Morgantown, passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2016. He was born December 4, 1978 in Morgantown, a son of Paul Edwin and Janet Elaine (McDonald) Powell, with whom he made his home. In addition to his parents, he is survived by four children, Josiah, Aly, Eli and Nathan; his siblings, Shawn Raymond Reges of Fairmont, Paul Edwin Powell, Jr. and his fiancAC. Chrissy Phillips of Barrackville, WV, Shawn Powell and his wife Debbie of Morgantown, and Carrie Powell of Morgantown; his paternal grandmother, Ellanora Isner of Core; his companion, Bonnie Evanoff; several nieces and nephews, and his faithful dog, Harley.He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, and both maternal grandparents.Shannon was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a very easy going guy, and a great father to his children.Friends may join the family in honoring Shannon's life and legacy at Smith Funeral & Cremation Care, 108 Holland Ave., Morgantown on Monday, April 18th from 1-3 & 6-8 PM. On Tuesday, April 19th, he will be moved to Nicholson Chapel Church, Summers School Rd., Morgantown where he will lay in repose from 11 AM until the time of the funeral service at 1 PM with Pastor Barbara Hamrick officiating.
