Her kindness and compassion to my husband and I will never be forgotten. We felt relief after meeting with her and we commented that we would be friends with her if she were our neighbor. For Dr. Kirkhams spouse and family please know that she made in a difference in our lives as I know she did for many others. "We met J.R., Julianne, and Alyssa while J.R. and my husband were patients at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN and we were all staying at Hope Lodge. We were assigned the same kitchen, our rooms were close together and J.R.\'s locker was next to ours. We became instant friends and tried to support each other throughout the treatments. When J.R. and Julianne left Hope Lodge, they shared their extra food stuffs with us. We were able to meet up with them again on a subsequent visit to Mayo. It saddens us to think that Julianne is gone. Our thoughts and prayers go with the family."

"I am saddened to hear of Julie\'s passing. She was the first student to do a pre-doctoral psychology placement at the Forensic Center in Saline in 1987. I participated in her training. She was a very intellectually curious, sensitive, and hard working doctoral student. She had a great sense of humor and the staff enjoyed working with her. I stayed in touch with her for a while and we became friends. It has been many years now since I last had contact with her. I actually tried to look her up last year when I took my daughter to NMU. I am especially sorry now that we did not connect. She was a wonderful psychologist. My condolences to her family and friends. "

"I\'ve known Julie since I was a little girl. She was my good friend\'s mother AND next door neighbor! I spent as much time at her house as I did mine. Julie, you will be sorely missed, and we just got back in contact, after all these years, but missed our opportunity. I pray that you are in peace and I\'m so sad, but I\'m sure you would offer sound advice about passing to the \'other side\', as well. Julie was like my second mother, always providing wisdom, caring, laughter, and homemade Buckeyes:). Thanks for taking care of me like I was your own. I wish you beauty and love and heaven itself. You will always be a treasure, and your absence from planet earth, doesn\'t mean, to me, that you\'re gone. Sending love to you and your family. xxoo"

"My sincerest condolences to Dr. Kirkham?s family, friends and colleagues. Dr. Kirkham was true shining star and champion for her patients. I am so grateful to her for her knowledgeable and compassionate care. The systemic injustice (medical, workplace, insurance, legal) and physical and mental pain that I faced after sustaining a TBI felt insurmountable and I felt like I was in a hole that I would never get out of. The day I saw Dr. Kirkham all of that changed. Within five minutes she knew exactly what was wrong and how to fix it. I did exactly what she told me to do and I was able climb out of that hole and work towards a life that is even better than the one I had before my accident. "

"My prayers and thoughts go out to Julianne?s family. My office was right across the hall from hers for many years. We were on the same treatment team for a few years too. She was a lovely woman and shared her home with me a few times, watching her wolfhounds with my Great Danes and we ?crafted? together. When I left MGH, I would still go back and visit her, she was always genuinely interested in getting updates on my life. Her patients adored her and so did I. This is heartbreaking but hoping she is making God some wonderful quilts. Chris (Erbisch) Vandezande "
