Obituary Naomi Dawson Langston
On May 16, 1936 a beautiful daughter was born into the family of Lovelace and Lillie Keys Dawson. Naomi was the fifth child and third daughter of nine children born to this union.
Naomi received her education in the Covington County Public School System. She was a graduate of Jackson State University.
Naomi moved to San Diego, California after graduating from college. While working and living in San Diego, she met and married James Langston in 1957. To this union they were blessed with five children; one daughter and four sons.
Naomi loved the Lord and gave her life, time and energy in services to Him and her church. She remained faithful to Jesus and her membership unto death.
She loved her family her children, grandchildren, brothers, and sisters, and yes, this love overflowed to her nieces, nephews, cousins, and her students whom taught. She encouraged everyone to become their best in life.
Naomi was very compassionate and hardworking wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and employee. She loved to work and wanted everyone who could work to work. There were times in her life she worked three jobs at one time. She also loved politics and wanted everyone to vote. She believed in African American people and desired and prayed for their success. She was elated when President Obama was elected as our first AA president. She never thought this would happen in her life time.
On April 5, 2018 Naomi Dawson Langston our champion, departed this life on earth. Preceding her in death her husband James Langston. One sister Eula Kirkland and three brothers: Oliver Dawson, L.V. Dawson, and L.C. Dawson.
Naomi leaves to cherish her legacy and memories one sister Juanita Langston of San Diego California. Three brothers: Joe (Betsy) Dawson, Simon Dawson of Los Angles California and George Dawson of Collins, Mississippi.
She leaves one daughter Jacqueline Langston of San Diego, California; and four sons: Anthony Langston, Calvin (Gayle) Langston, Melvin Langston and Jeffery Langston from San
Diego, California. She also leaves to cherish her memories grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of other relatives and friends.
