In the early 60's, and because of an entrepreneurial spirit, she opened Tina's Caf on 16th and Market Street; she was a very good cook and always had customers. In between operating her caf, because she was an excellent seamstress she made beautiful clothes for others. She went on to teach a sewing class at San Diego City College. Her fashion shows helped to launch careers for some of the models to the Ebony Fashion Fair. In 1985, Tina opened her sewing shop called "Happy Sewing" and once again she began designing and sewing beautiful clothes for others. She would design and create her own patterns from paper bags; she was a master seamstress. "thanks sis & bro in law."
"We were so grateful that God allowed us to become a part of the family when your daughter accepted my brother as her husband, to that we are grateful. When I first met Ms. Williams she made me feel like she was my mom and that I had none her all my life. She showed just that much love toward me and my family. My. Brter was nothing but a big baby and she had him just as spoiled as I, my mom, or Laquita would have done and she had him hook line and sinker in a good way. I learned she loved fashion and I did to especially shoes which was my weakness! But where I won her heart was through my true passion which is cooking! And her favorite for me to make was a lemon pound cake. She was a true woman of God that loved Christ and loved her family. She will be truly missed but she has set the example for us on how a Christian should live and be. We don't need to cry for her she passed her exam now is our time to be in position to test and pass!! Rest In Peace Momma Tina Love You!!"
