Shawn Charles LaMont (41), Jody Rae LaMont (42), Jace Pruitt LaMont (6), and Alice Lee LaMont (4) of Gainesville, FL passed away on June 5, 2020 in Eatonton, Georgia.
Shawn originally from San Diego, California and Jody originally from New Castle, Indiana were married on September 9, 2012 in San Diego. They relocated to Florida in 2012 where Shawn worked at Shadow Trailer, Inc and Jody worked as a clinical supervisor at Metamorphosis program in Alachua County. Together they started J&S Trailer Service in Williston, Florida. In 2014 Shawn and Jody welcomed their first child, Jace. Jace was a recent Kindergarten graduate of Wiles Elementary. He loved BMX, trains, and telling jokes. Jace became a big brother in 2016 when the LaMonts welcomed Alice. Alice attended Abacus Learning Center. She loved Disney princesses, dresses that twirled, and gymnastics. The LaMont Family enjoyed going places together. They loved the beach, camping, Disney, monster truck rallies, baseball games, and being with family and friends. They helped others, brought joy to many, and lived life well.

Life Well Lived
A life well lived is a precious gift,
Of hope and strength and grace,
From someone who has made our world
A brighter, better place.
It's filled with moments, sweet and sad
With smiles and sometimes tears,
With friendships formed and good times shared,
And laughter through the years.
A life well lived is a legacy,
Of joy and pride and pleasure,
A living, lasting memory
Our grateful heart's will treasure.

"There are no words to adequately convey the tragedy of this loss. Shawn was a most caring, kind and giving man and devoted to his family. There was never a meeting with Shawn that he was not smiling, upbeat and willing to help. I simply cannot imagine the pain that this tragedy has brought upon the families. Hopefully, the memories of the good times and the smiles of this loving family can overpower the grief and the loss. "

"I went to meta from 2014 to 2016, all of which Jody was my counselor. I was a very broken down person at that time to say the least, and I am happy to say that I\'m happy today. I owe that to the work and time I had with meta and Jody. She truly cared about her work and her work saved a lot of lives. The world needs more people like the Lamont\'s. -Bob Sanford"

"Our worlds were far apart. My Sister Doris and children were not very well known by my family, as my wife, June and I were in the Ministry and had little time or finances for travel. The last several years prior to my sister\'s death, I was in contact with Judy, exchanging bible study and learned her depth of salvation through Christ on the internet. Splashes of excellence I begin to see in her daughters and was very inspired by their relationship to our Lord and Savior. The daughter\'s of Judy made excellent choices in husbands, thus building great families. I can not fix the loss of Jody\'s family in my mind, but we have a God who does all things for our good. One day we will understand the processes taken in these circumstances mankind experiences. God is not aloof, but directly orchestrating our world and our lives. We put our complete confidence and faith in what ever falls out to us. I lost my 29 year old daughter in a house trailer fire-heard the news of it on 11:00 P. M. news. By the time I got to the house trailer, the fireman were bringing her out of the burnt trailer door in a black bag. When I hear of these sudden tragedies I find myself at that trailer door again. But when it is family the hurt is much deeper. I pray for our families strength and comfort in this hour. Love you all, Uncle Ben. "

"Jeff and I have worked all over the country with Shawn. Not one evening would pass that Shawn didn\'t call Jace and Alice before they went to bed. He told them how proud he was and how much he loved them. That\'s a testament to the quality of person he was and what a wonderful father and husband to Jodi. They were a family that was blessed with love. Together they loved and together they will be forever in heaven ?. Kathy and Jeff Gassen "

"I was at Meta off and on from 2013-2016. During my first time there, Jody wasnt my counselor and we had a great joking friendship. She was always joking with me and that definitely helped me get through my first time there. The second time there was when I chose to put myself there and Jody was my counselor. She was able to pull everything out of me, I got a lot of work done with her, work that definitely saved my life. Without her, I dont know that I would have the beautiful life I have today. She truly cared for me, I could see in the disappointment written all over her face when I walked away. And the relief when I came to tell her I was doing okay. I will forever be grateful for her and her family. Jody, thank you for everything and you will be forever missed. "

"Jody has been in my life since 2015 when I went to Metamorphosis for treatment. I started working with her for individual treatment in 2016 and developed an incredible friendship along the way. She sincerely cared about me and wanted me to be successful. We were able to get to a place therapeutically that is extremely rewarding and provided a keystone of support that has kept me making healthy decisions. She was a person that was always present when she was with you, and her love was given to all those around her. Having met Jace and Alice has well I also got glimpses of what an incredible mother she was as well. I will miss her so much. I love you Jody."
