It is with great sadness that the family of John Richard Clifton, born February 19,1947, announces his passing on Tuesday, March 17, 2020, at the age of 73 years. John leaves behind his sister Leah Browning, her two daughters, Sandi Browning, and Judi Delvecchio and her children, Ashley (Justin), Kaitlin, Alex and great nephew Colton and nephew Johnny Mills (Tennille) children Tyler, Haley, and Landon. His youngest sister, Marilyn Naylor (Brent) children, Tyson, Jesse (Sarah), Tara and great nephew Joshua. John will also be remembered by his stepsons Richard Welch, Douglas Welch, Bryan (Rebekah) Welch, and Evan Welch. John was predeceased by his parents Ben and Iola Clifton, wife Delores Welch Clifton and his sister Rina Spain. John served his country in the Navy for four years during the Viet Nam War.  He worked for the Burlington Northern Railroad for 43 years as a brakeman. John was best known for his love of opera, singing and old movies.  He was a quiet man of routine; a good brother and we will miss him. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
For more than a decade, John Clifton regularly socialized at the Lynnwood, WA located CliffHanger Sports Bar and Tasters Wok Restaurant. Over time, he became friends with the business owners, their employees, and regular customers. Each person was heartbroken to learn their beloved and kind-hearted friend, John, had "Slipped into Eternity".
John's friends spoke highly of him. Their fond memories included:  Embraced his bible, Proudly retired Burlington Northern Railroad,  Kind-hearted man, Adored Enrico Caruso, Italian Operatic Tenor, Enjoyed moving to music, Loved being around people, Always willing to help others', Enjoyed people watching, Loved Rocky, Star Trek, and Karate Kid movies, Trustworthy friend, Always waved and smiled,  Generous person, Never criticized others', Truthful individual, Loved playing and winning bingo games, Treasured bunnies, Unassuming man,  Movie buff, Good friend, Special person, Memories of John Clifton will live in many hearts for years to come.
