Katie Halvorson wrote on Jun 13, 2020:

"I can still remember being a first-year teacher at Cotter and sitting in the gym for my first ever parent/teacher conferences. I was feeling a little nervous and not 100% sure what to expect, when a little ways into the evening, Kam and David came to sit at my table. They were both so incredibly kind-- checking in on how I was doing and how my first year teaching was going, thanking me for my hard work, encouraging me to stick with it-- the list goes on. Ever since then, whenever I ran into Kam she always made the effort to say hello and make me feel so valued and appreciated as a teacher- even in years when I didn\'t have one of her kids in class. I am so grateful for Kam\'s incredible generosity of spirit, for the calming presence and kind words she unceasingly shared, even though she never needed to, and my heart breaks for this incredible loss to her family and to our community. To the Cranor Family-- I wish deeply that I was able to make it to the service today, but know that my thoughts are with your family and with Kam. --Katie Halvorson"

"I had the privilege of caring/mentoring her kids, esp. her daughters at church in Winona several years ago, perhaps only a few times but I still remember her and her family well. They were all good kids. In fact I still have a homemade gift that Becca made for me. The last time I saw Kam was at Tyler Fegre\'s grad party last summer. (I grew up with Tanya and Dana.) I remember being so thrilled when I found out that Dana was working with Kam! Kam remembered me when I saw her that day at the party and we had a very brief conversation but she was so kind as always. My condolences to the family and friends of Kam. Her love for Jesus was so very apparent. Praying for comfort and peace during this tough time."

"Ms. Kam was one of the most kind, patient, smiley, peaceful ladies I?ve ever known. Just seeing her everyday at work really assured me that the day was going to start off great. She loved the students so much. She talked so much about her family, I will never forget the glow in her eyes when she was mentioning something about her sweet family. If a student said or did something we thought was cute, we would look at each other with hand over heart and she would say ?such a sweet potata?. I will forever remember her isms and probably will say them as I have before. She will be missed by so so many. Prayers for her sweet fam. - Laura"

Amanda (DJoe) Gillett wrote on Jun 11, 2020:

"Ms Kam was gentle, loving, patient, and kind, full of joy, peace, goodness, faithfulness, and self-control. She genuinely exhibited all of the fruits of the Spirit. She helped shape my daughter; we are so blessed to have been with her in Children\'s House at Riverway. In our early years, she helped this sad \"momma bear\" leave her crying daughter at school. We are so deeply saddened and are praying for her family and all of the staff and students at Riverway. I\'m not sure many people are missed as much as she will be. ... so sad ... so very sorry for your loss ... The world is diminished because she is gone, but it is a better place because she was here."

Catherine Schmidt wrote on Jun 11, 2020:

Somehow her presence, her patient smile and her inner light just made you feel at ease. It was truly a gift to know her and to hear her talk of her children and her family with such pride. Our community will miss her tremendously. Thank you for sharing her light with us!"

When my oldest son got married 11 years ago, I called on Kam to help me with the rehearsal and reception floral arrangements on the tables. We worked together collecting baskets and fresh flowers and at the end, they turned out beautifully and she did not want to take any payment. Kam was so precious! "

"I am so heartbroken for the entire family. I was so happy to have Kam as a friend. We sat on the benches and fields together watching our kids. During these years I was fortunate to start a real friendship with Kam which included a lot of sharing, being 100% vulnerable and getting to know each other far beyond what I would have imagined. She was sweet, God loving and a true friend to so many. love you lady. Kim Trainor "
