Charlotte Bennett Skinner, 76, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, June 1, 2020.
She is preceded in death by her parents, John D. And Madge Bennett; brothers, J.T., Ford and Rickey Bennett; sister-in-law, Judy Bennett and granddaughter, Kami Skinner.
Charlotte has been a lifelong member of Harmony Grove Baptist Church. She is best known by her friends and family for making wonderful desserts, such as her teacakes and coconut cake. She has always had a special calling to care for the elderly. She loved volunteering and serving food (sneaking in her own desserts) for the Meals-On-Wheels Foundation.
Charlotte is survived by her husband of 58 years, Winfred Skinner; children, Dwight and Connie Skinner, Rena and Barry Mecke, Todd and Beth Skinner, Jan and Eric Waters; grandchildren, Kaylee Skinner, Andy Mecke, Savanna and Sierra Skinner, Sawyer and Sullivan Waters; brothers, Wendell Bennett, Rev. Danny Bennett; nephews, Darrell Bennett, Jamie Bennett and Jeremy Gazaway; nieces, Valorie Carnes, Angel Matheson, Robin Self, Brooke Webb; and other family, Vicki and Dean Venator, Vickie Bennett, Jan Bennett, Francis Bennett and Adella Seabolt.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 4, at 2:00 p.m. at the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Danny Bennett and Rev. Todd Skinner officiating. Graveside services will follow at Sawnee View Gardens with Rev. Tim Biddy officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Thursday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
The family would also like to extend thanks and appreciation to Nurse Kim and the rest of the Northeast Georgia Medical Center Hospice Group.
